Camera Shots

Establishing shots

This establishes where the action takes place sets the scene.

Wide shot

Often used as an establishing shot, shows the subjects surroundings in more detail.

Long shot

A shot which shows all or most of a fairly large subjects (for example person) ussually surroundings

Medium long shot

Kness to head with some background
Allows for action

Medium shot

Waist to head
Commonly used when beginning to focus more on a character and their body lanaguage

Medium two shot

Similar to a medium shot, but with two people. Helps to show division and unity.

Medium close up

Head and shoulders. To focus on a character.

Close up

Shows a charcaters face. Used to show emotion

Big close up

Foreahed to chin. Used to show extreme condidtion.

Extreme close up

A very tight shot, to focus on a specific detail, for example someones eyes or door handle.

Over the shoulder

Used during a convo. MCU+ the other persons shoulder/head/back etc.

Overhead Shot

Camera directly over objects/ actors
Can be used to make people/ objects look small and isolated

High angle

Could be used to make the object/ person look weak/powerless

Low angle

Could be used to make someone look strong and powerful.

Deep shot

When something is in the foreground and something else in the background
